"If You Ain't Got No Money..."

"...Take yo broke *ss home."

So was the rallying cry of the night for some people,
as tickets sold out about an hour before the concert
was scheduled to start.

Luckily, my boy Jake came through big time,
and after waiting outside during most of
Matt & Kim's set, we got free tickets.
Gainesville boys!

I'm gonna spare you some lengthy write-up about
the concert, or any kind of review, just know that
the concert was incredibly dope, and if you missed it,
I'm sorry. Not like it was life changing, but that was
one of the top shows of the year. The energy from the crowd
was constant as Chuck and Mikey set the stage on fire,
coming out to their first single on Mountain Dew's
Green Label Sounds, "Delivery Man". They definitely
tried to bring '88 back by flipping some of their songs over MC
Hammer (?) and the "This Is How We Do It" instrumentals.
They invited as many people as could fit on the Common
Grounds stage for the upbeat track, "Bassment Party"
(Where the title of this post comes from...).

And you know they had to "Mikey Rocks" and "Black Mags".

But I would say the most hype track of the night,
well, it's a tie between "What It Is" and "88", in my opinion.

And that's kinda where the write up ended, my bad lol.

Aim For the Stars!!!

All day I've been wondering
what I'm going to do tonight.
Then my man DJ Airborn told
me he was spinnin' at
Shooting Star tonight. All for
the cost of nothing! That's what
I like to hear! So come join me
at Shooting Star tonight for
some "soul and smooth selection
to end the semester with relaxation"

Shooting star is located on
SW 2nd ave across the street
from common grounds

BCS Championship Game!

It's truly great to be a Florida Gator!
Within my 4 collegiate years at the
University of Florida we have Championships
year after year after year. This year just
adds another opportunity to bring home a victory.
The Gators will go up against Oklahoma Sooners in
the BCS Championship Game, which will take
place Jan. 8th at Dolphin Stadium in Miami, Fl.
Tebow and the Gators will definitely be a force to be
reckoned with!
I'm definitely trying to make it to this game, since
it is close to home.

If you ain't a Gator, then you're just Gator Bait!

Cool Kids Live!

From the Chi all the way to the Ville!
Cool Kids will be in the building
this Tuesday, Dec. 9th, at Common Grounds.
The show starts at 9:30 pm and the tickets
are only $5! That's is less than a McDonald's
value meal nowadays. Check it out, I think
it should be a great show!

Vote Murs For President of Hip Hop

Last night, Gainesville was truly blessed with real hip hop. The Murs tour went down at Common Ground from the minute DJ Flash of Little Brother hopped on the 1's and 2's to the last drip of sweat off of Murs's funny-looking dreadlocks. The concert featured other artists such as Chaundon, Big Pooh (1/2 of Little Brother)and Kidz and the Hall. Each them brought different styles to the table to serve up one amazing dish. The place was packed with beautiful ladies, fly fellas, and mad sneakers! I couldn't ask for a more exciting night. Below are pictures from when Murs was at library west and the event. Shout out to Jesse for the pics. Also, a shout out to the other Sole Mentality members that I saw out there!

If you don't know about Murs, then you don't know hip hop. Point Blank. Period. He was even kind enough to give his fans free music. You can download the Sweet Lord album with 9th Wonder for free.
